Philanthropy
In 1927 a Scholarship Loan Fund was started. Worthy Seniors were given a $50.00 loan to help pay their spring semester obligations. This morphed into the College Club Scholarship Fund in partnership with Buffalo State University, and now, as a 501(c)3 charitable organization we award two college students a yearly stipend to help defray college costs. We also give support to other local 501(c)3s.
Our Mansion
Our elegant Georgian Revival mansion is located in the heart of the Elmwood Historic District. The house was designed by local architects Lansing and Bierl for Philip Sherwood Smith, an attorney and the director of the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy (predecessor of the Albright-Knox). The building's distinctive elegance received national recognition in a 1906 issue of Town & Country magazine. Today it serves as our home
