264 Summer Steet

The College Club of Buffalo was founded in 1914 by and for female college graduates, a rarity in that era. Within a few years, the Club purchased its present clubhouse, a white-columned red brick mansion. The house was designed by local architects Lansing and Bierl for Philip Sherwood Smith, an attorney and the director of the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy (predecessor of the Albright-Knox). The building's distinctive elegance received national recognition in a 1906 issue of Town & Country magazine. Today it serves as our home.
